Meet Mrs. Murphy!
Mrs. Murphy in 3rd grade
Whitney S. Murphy
4th Grade Teacher
Northside Elementary
Teaching & Education Background: I received my Bachelor of the Arts from the University of Utah in Elementary Education and an endorsement to teach English as a Second Language from Weber State University. I have taught 4th and 3rd grades. I have taught a wide array of students, from preschool to middle school, and students of all levels and abilities. I believe that ALL children can learn, and should be given the tools to find the joy in learning and discovery. My favorite subject to teach is art, second is math.
Family:
I have a big family, stretched all around the country, but most live somewhere in Utah, which is where I grew up. My husband, Scott, is a civil engineer (builds things and plays with dirt). No kids yet, but we have two dwarf frogs named Booger and Freckles.
Hobbies: I am most at home in the outdoors – hiking, fishing, traveling, and skiing are a few of my favorites. When indoors, I love to read, draw, and paint.
